ProLogis North America Leases 21.1 Million Square Feet During The Fourth Quarter

ProLogis’ leasing professionals, customer contacts, and brokers worked together during the fourth quarter to lease 19.1 million square feet in the US and Canada and 1.9 million square feet in Mexico to close 2009.

"Our teams worked very hard throughout 2009, and together helped to secure a significant amount of new leases in the fourth quarter," said Larry Harmsen, ProLogis president in the United States.

Silvano Solis, ProLogis president in Mexico added the following perspective, "Although 2009 was a tough year, leasing picked up in most of our markets in Mexico, due to the strategic effort made by our team. ProLogis was able to increase its market share (percentage of deals) through this harsh environment, unlike any other year in our history in Mexico. We continue to see more activity throughout our markets and we remain confident in our abilities to overcome the challenges 2010 brings."
